If you are updating your website and your copyright is not embedded in the footer, you will need to manually update every single page!  Examples of ways your copyright may appear online: copyright © 2016 My New Business. Release: Thursday, February 13, 2015. copyright © 2012 by My New Business copyright © 2016 My New Business. All rights reserved. © copyright 2016 My New Business. All rights reserved. Simply update the year and think about changing the length of your copyright. For example, if you chose a short copyright then you may try changing it to a longer copyright (examples shown above). It's possible for search engines, such as Google, to see the added change and possibly re-crawl your website.
